Marengo Memorial Hospital celebrated its new facility Tuesday, Aug. 15, with a ribbon cutting and the use of a new name.
During ceremonies to celebrate the mutli-million dollar facility, the hospital’s new name – Compass Memorial Healthcare – was unveiled to the public. Hundreds of people, including the hospital’s staff, were on hand to witness the unveiling of the new state-of-the-art hospital and much more.
Hospital CEO Barry Goettsch, hospital board of trustees chairman Daryl Russ, U.S. Department of Agriculture representative Cindy Pelzer (whose agency’s Rural Development grant program provided funding for the project) and chief operations officer Mikaela Gehring spoke.
Those attending the open house saw the new cafeteria area to the right of the entrance with a new stainless steel kitchen just beyond it. To the left of the new entrance is the new therapy area including physical and occupational therapy and two rooms for sleep studies.
Registration and access to clinic areas are easily accessible from the front entrance also. The waiting or lobby area is expected to seat about 50 and is easily accessible down the walkway from the front door as well.
